It was found in 13th century, at that time monks came to Maniava Mountains, and brought Christianity with them to those places. Skyt- is a cloister built far from places where people live, where monks can pray and devote their lives to God. They also were working here. The first monks who opened Maniava Skyt were Ivan Vyshenskyy and Iov Knyagnytskyy. And in 1621 Skyt was officially given the necessary paper works.
